Self-Referral

Physiotherapy

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde offer a musculoskeletal out-patient physiotherapy service. The Musculoskeletal physiotherapy service (or MSK for short) is based in health centres and out-patient departments across Greater Glasgow and Clyde. To find your nearest MSK physiotherapy department view this interactive map.

What does a MSK physiotherapist do?

An MSK physiotherapist will assess and treat patients who have any injury, disease or problem that relates to muscles, bones, joints and peripheral nerves. They may also provide advice to help you manage your condition or refer you to other services.

How can I arrange to see a physiotherapist?

Your GP, or another health care professional, can refer you to physiotherapy. It is often easier and quicker to complete a self-referral form. They will need some information to help us provide the right service for you so in order to refer yourself to MSK physiotherapy please complete our Musculoskeletal physiotherapy self-referral form and take it to your local physiotherapy department. Paper copies are available from your local physiotherapy department or GP surgery.
