WEIGHT LOSS INJECTIONS

We are receiving an influx of notifications from private prescribers informing us patients have recently obtained weight loss injections. Providers such as Med Express, Simple Online Pharmacy and Health Hero do not have access to a patients full medical records and rely solely on the information the patient provides them with.

Using Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) on top of a contraceptive pill may result in your contraceptive not working effectively. In this instance we would recommend using condoms for four weeks after every dose change to avoid unwanted pregnancy.

Patients who are using weight loss injections on top of HRT treatment should be aware that the injections may have an impact on the effectiveness of your HRT to adequately protect your endometrium (womb lining). Patients in this category should contact the Practice to arrange an appointment with our advanced nurse practitioner to discuss potential alternatives. This should be a 10 minute face to face appointment to allow us to review your medication and blood pressure effectively.
